Welcome

Welcome to St Cyril’s Community & Young Peoples Project (SCCYP), a place at the heart of our neighbourhood where children, young people, adults, and families are supported, included, and encouraged to thrive. We are proudly known as the SCCYP Family because that is exactly who we are — a welcoming, safe, and supportive community where everyone belongs.

Since 1992, SCCYP has been working to strengthen the Belle Vale Ward by offering meaningful activities, emotional support, practical help, and positive opportunities for people of all ages. Our building is a trusted, friendly space where residents feel valued, listened to, and part of something bigger.

A Community-Focused Space for Everyone

Our organisation plays a vital role in reducing isolation for both adults and young people. Many of the people who come through our doors face limited social networks, confidence barriers, or challenges that make everyday life more difficult. At SCCYP, they find connection, routine, and belonging.

Children and young people benefit from a safe alternative to spending time on the streets. Our sessions help keep them away from negative influences, reduce exposure to gang culture, and provide them with positive role models, supportive friendships, and structured activities they genuinely enjoy.

Tackling Food Poverty and Hardship

Food poverty remains a serious issue for many families in our community. We provide a drop in service offering food, clothing, and essential items to those who need support. This service has become a lifeline for adults, young people, and families experiencing hardship. By offering practical help without judgment, we ensure that no one feels alone or ashamed when times are difficult.

Our community events and parties also offer free food, ensuring that children and families can enjoy social experiences without financial pressure — something many would otherwise miss out on.

Building Confidence, Health and Well-being.

We place a strong focus on improving health and well-being. Through fitness activities, offsite sessions like trampolining, and creative programmes such as professional art classes, we help children and young people build confidence, improve physical health, and strengthen emotional resilience. Adults also benefit from activities that promote social connection, healthy routines, and mental well-being.

Our approach supports the whole person — encouraging self-expression, positive choices, and opportunities to grow. All services are provided free of charge.

Our programmes include Sports, Dance, Off-Site opportunities, Trips, Arts & Crafts and Baking for children and for adults Weekly Lunches, Fitness Sessions, Creative Workshops, Day Trips and Training.
